Jantar Mantar

The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Sawai Jai Singh who was a Rajput king. The observatory consists of fourteen major geometric devices for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars' location as the earth orbits around the sun, ascertaining the declinations of planets, and determining the celestial altitudes and related ephemerides. Each is a fixed and 'focused' tool.

City Palace

The City Palace (Jaipur) is an awesome specimen of architectural brilliance in the city of Jaipur. The Royal Palace was built in the 18th century by the Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was the Rajput king of Amber. Some of the special features such as magnificent pillars, lattice or jali work, carved marble interiors and inlaid ornamentations make the palace beautiful in appearance and a treat to watch for the visitors. The City Palace is one of the cherished attractions in the city.

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh fort in Jaipur is a very famous fort on the Aravalli hills, overlooking the Jaipur pink city. This fort proved to be a defense area for the city. Visitors are not allowed inside after evening 6 pm, as the fort is said to be haunted.

Amber Fort

The Amber Fort set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura. The interior wall of the palace depicts expressive painting scenes with carvings, precious stones and mirror settings. In the foreground is the Maota Lake providing a breathtaking vista.

Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh Fort is one such spectacular fort on a hill named Cheel ka Teela- which translates into the Hill of Eagles. It is around 400 ft above Amer Fort. It truly is a magnificent fort offering great views and delights during Monsoon .Named after Jai Singh II, the Jaigarh fort is perched on a cliff surrounded by huge battlements with inside walkways. It is one of the few military structures of medieval India preserved almost intact, containing palaces, a granary, a well-planned cannon foundry, several temples, a tall tower and a giant mounted cannon-the Jain Ban (Jaivan) the largest cannon in the world.

Hawa Mahal

A major landmark in Jaipur, Hawa Mahal ("Palace of Winds" or "Palace of the Breeze") has also grown to be a popular tourist attraction in the city. It offers a breath taking panoramic view. This mainly speaks for the splendid architectural preference of the royal family. Its unique five-storey exterior is also akin to the honeycomb of the beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas that are decorated with intricate latticework. The lattice provides cool air caused by the Venturi effect (doctor breeze) through the intricate pattern and thereby air conditioning the whole area during the high temperatures in summers.
